Taali is a playful line of 9 prints from Monaluna, the organic cotton fabric company headed by designer Jennifer Moore. Taali features a color combination of aqua, light red, moss green, and black and draws inspiration from Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
I love the fresh colors and the graphic feel of the Taali collection from Monaluna. The eclectic mix of floral, natural, and urban prints is quite endearing, and it perfectly reflects the dichotomy of Scandinavia. One of the most colorful prints, titled Busy City, shows a picture of houses, churches, scooters, cars, and domestic animals like dogs, cats, and birds. In contrast, the other large print in the collection is called Hill and Dale, and it features rolling hills of sheep, tulips, and small houses. Background prints in this collection include a light green with white polka dots, a blue and white chevron stripe, and two floral patterns titled Astors and Posies in light red and ice blue. Although the large prints and the small prints in the Taali collection are all adorable, it's the medium prints that stole my heart! Graphic green trees against a blue background create a sort of bubbly repeating pattern in Trees, and the different colored apples in Mixed Apples have an updated country feel. However, my favorite print is Bah Bah Black Sheep, a fun green fabric filled with white sheep and an occasional black sheep thrown in for good measure. This fabric would look beyond cute in a baby's room!
The best part about Monaluna fabrics is that they are made from organic cotton and printed with dye that is not carcinogenic, so you can feel safe snuggling up to a quilt made with this fabric!
