Japanese Sashiko Shell Free Motion Design
Looking for an Asian-inspired look? Try out this Japanese Sashiko Shell Free Motion Design. This is a gorgeous free motion pattern because it is clean and elegant. The cool thing about sashiko stitches is that they're meant to be seen! Use a sharply contrasting colored thread to show off your perfect free motion quilting skills. While this sashiko design is less dense than a traditional Japanese pattern, you can still achieve the same look with this beginner free motion pattern. It's up to you if you want to keep the shape consistent or inconsistent. Challenge yourself with this pattern, if you're going for a crisp and sophisticated look, go for consistency.

I love Leah Day's free motion designs and this sashiko one is really cute. I love sashiko on a blue background as it is originally meant to go on an indigo background. I have several kits that I've done with sashiko including coasters and pillows. Does anyone have a go to place where they like to order sashiko supplies from? I like Shibori Dragon.
