The Reverse Applique Circles Block tutorial demonstrates how to create a machine reverse applique block with several different size circles. You can use this applique technique to make bubbles, polka dots, or any other circle pattern.
This project includes printable applique templates. If you are looking to learn how to applique, free block patterns are a great way to do so. Before testing out an applique or reverse applique on a finished quilt, use it on a block first. That way if something goes wrong you have not wasted too much fabric.

I don't think those bubbles look very good. I would look for a way to sew them on that doesn't show seam allowances under the white fabric. Also not crazy about the white fabric left to possibly fray. I guess the technique might work for some things but I didn't think it looked very neat done that way. I did like the fabrics you used though but just not crazy about the results.
