For one block, a fat quarter or quarter yard will be more than enough for the petals, another for the background, and scraps for everything else. It's simple to convert the outer edge to a contrasting border by swapping out the background color used beyond the edges of the flower petals for something darker or lighter. Bring on the summer blooms!"
