I am in the middle of making my niece's T-Shirt quilt. It's actually her graduation present. I cut the T-shirts different sizes so that I could frame them with different fabrics like you did. You made a great T-Shirt quilt that is perfect for the dorm. Good-luck in school.

When I tie quilts , I use a surgeons knot. That means to wrap the yarn/floss twice around on each step of the knot. It lays flatter than a regular square knot. I have a t-shirt quilt in queue for my grand daughter; it is to be made of her father's shirts. He died in Sept. 2012 from liver cancer.

I love the idea of using fabric scrapes to fame the t-shirt material. I have never made one, but my granddaughter is wanting me to make her one and she is in her first year of college. I made her a jean quilt when she was about 5.
